so posting on Facebook okay welcome to
0:22
this video hope you’re a great Monday if
0:24
anyone is watching maybe not people are
0:26
at work
0:27
people in America are just getting up or
0:29
just going to work or maybe you hate
0:32
your job and you’re just looking at
0:34
watching YouTube videos on your job so
0:37
today I am doing a life video because I
0:41
just started to shoot a video and my cam
0:45
didn’t record I had the audio and I
0:48
thought let’s put it up as audio but no
0:51
I’m boarding a video because it’s Monday
0:54
so today I woke up didn’t have any idea
0:57
sometimes I’m a little bit anxious when
0:59
it’s Monday because it’s my video day I
1:01
chose this day because it’s very
1:03
uncomfortable to start the week and
1:07
having to do stuff and having to come up
1:09
with stuff so luckily my very dear
1:12
friend double from implore sometimes
1:15
he’s just dropping me video ideas and
1:20
this morning I woke up and been pretty
1:23
anxious again as I just said and he came
1:27
up with a great idea which is why do
1:29
bands die or go off the radar and he
1:31
basically wrote my script change off the
1:36
trend audience growing up and not
1:38
catching up the new ones bad financial
1:40
business and I think for bands that are
1:43
lifting themselves up from the ground a
1:46
little bit these three reasons are
1:47
pretty much where it’s at or people are
1:52
becoming parents or people have to go
1:56
back working full-time and it’s pretty
1:59
hard when your job is not in the music
2:01
industry and you have a band to be in
2:03
the same like mindset I mean of course
2:07
after you are done at the factory or
2:10
something every day and you do not have
2:12
to be there for you
2:13
girlfriend or or wife or children you
2:17
may blow off some steam steam until 1:00
2:20
a.m. in the morning and you can pretty
2:21
much just do whatever you want but I
2:25
think especially getting older it’s
2:28
pretty hard to sustain a band so I just
2:32
want to catch up with the points that
2:34
gabrielle made and for the purpose of
2:37
Gabrielle gobble doop goal which is a
2:40
fine tattoo artist a fine singer a fine
2:42
friend a fine bassist and a fine guy
2:46
very nice gentleman I wore the employer
2:50
shirt I have from them so let’s get over
2:57
the point with the audience not growing
2:59
up and I’m maybe there’s a chat going on
3:02
but I’m not looking there right now
3:05
let’s take the example of Parkway Drive
3:08
I just wrote I just thought about that
3:10
this very morning there are a lot of
3:13
people becoming getting very angry about
3:16
the new music that Parkway Drive is
3:18
putting out people are telling them hey
3:20
we want horizons bag which is pretty
3:22
much their second album I think and the
3:25
music can’t be any different from what
3:27
they’re doing now but they’re a
3:29
mainstream band right now they are
3:30
playing huge huge concert venues and
3:34
back then they played in front of 120
3:37
people the point is people change so
3:39
does the music that they write change
3:41
and so does the audience they are
3:45
attracting change but the point is that
3:48
not the money not the majority is
3:50
complaining it just seems like the bed
3:53
the bad opinions are getting out there
3:55
do you see how weird this is watching me
3:58
unedited I caught a lot of shit up and I
4:03
don’t drink coffee in my regular videos
4:08
so with the not catching up with the
4:11
audience which is I think against the
4:16
principle of making it hard doing music
4:19
for the audience which is an art itself
4:22
but I especially metal
4:25
where you would write music just so the
4:28
listener would like it I think
4:29
especially these interweb I’m not a
4:33
guide to do research because I’ve got
4:35
other shit to do I’m just going with my
4:37
gut and people may or may not like but
4:41
if bands are not progressing and not not
4:46
really writing music for the fans but
4:48
progressing as artists and progressing
4:49
as songwriters and progressing with
4:52
maybe a different producer doing
4:54
different music maybe putting out a
4:56
super-modern album between two
4:58
old-school albums I think not
5:01
progressing is really a killer for for
5:04
bands in general and that is why bands
5:06
after 25 years are still staying a small
5:11
band and playing small venues and not
5:14
getting more and more attraction they
5:16
may they may really be soothing they’re
5:20
old school fans but it’s that may be a
5:24
reason and I absolutely agree with my
5:27
friend here and then there’s bad
5:30
financial business people realize this
5:34
way way way too late that their band is
5:37
a business and you should not treat it
5:40
the business side any different than you
5:42
would kebab shop or clothing line or
5:47
it’s a business and it’s a hundred
5:50
percent of business you have income you
5:52
have stuff to buy you have things to pay
5:54
you have insurance to pay you have to go
5:57
and register register your business
5:59
within your chamber of business wherever
6:02
you’re from wherever you’re looking
6:04
wherever you’re living and the point is
6:08
people realized is too late I already
6:10
said that I would have edited that out
6:13
in a in an actual video but as soon as
6:18
the band takes off a little bit and I’ve
6:21
been in the same situation people quit
6:23
their jobs people quit their full-time
6:25
jobs and it’s definitely a smart
6:27
decision if you want to push into the
6:30
band as much as possible if you want to
6:31
play as much as possible you have to
6:34
look for a job that you can be off for
6:36
some weeks and go back without
6:39
bad feelings which is pretty pretty
6:40
pretty hard if you are in a developed
6:43
country I think I had luck with these
6:45
arrangements and I definitely had these
6:48
and everything I do wouldn’t work
6:52
without that but people get into bad the
6:57
band is growing and people quit their
6:59
jobs and then all of a sudden the
7:02
financial side is growing way more
7:04
important and it’s like let’s say the
7:06
artistic side is up here and they are
7:08
pushing the financial side up here and
7:11
then people start thinking about time
7:14
versus money so but the time you put in
7:17
your art is actually not really you
7:21
can’t really calculate it and a lot of
7:24
people get bitter you read a lot of
7:26
statements when people leave bigger
7:28
bands hey I couldn’t afford being in the
7:30
band anymore because believe it or not
7:32
there are bands in metal in pop music
7:36
that have that seem like they’re a big
7:38
deal with a hundred thousand likes and
7:40
whatever but these people are still
7:42
working at home because they understood
7:44
that it wouldn’t be possible to to do
7:46
that and to just live from it there are
7:49
bands that are playing big festivals
7:51
that are still paying their flights by
7:54
themselves like every member is paying
7:57
their flight to the touring destination
8:00
and then maybe paying off everything
8:02
every day with merge money and
8:05
everything and the band is pretty
8:09
expensive and that puts off a lot of
8:11
people once they taste the financial
8:13
game once they taste the business game
8:15
and then after not being not catching up
8:21
new audience not serving your audience
8:23
well bad financial business then there
8:26
is just the other thing with why bands
8:30
disappear bets just stop like you can go
8:34
up to two Facebook pages of bands and
8:37
one year ago they have been just sharing
8:39
our pictures of them playing and then
8:41
being in a studio but sometimes people
8:45
just make their point and a lot of times
8:47
art is about making your point and
8:50
pushing out a political
8:52
message I don’t know or animal rights or
8:56
you just want to show off and you found
8:58
a girlfriend and you’re now engaged and
9:01
there’s no point in making music anymore
9:03
and sometimes people find their
9:06
objective and actually starting a band
9:08
way too late so when you’re starting
9:10
your band of course you’re not like eh
9:12
I’m going to do this just for the girls
9:15
and if you stop when you have a
9:18
girlfriend
9:19
stop putting energy in your band maybe
9:20
you actually did it
9:22
for finding a girl or multiple girls or
9:26
whatever and right now there’s not much
9:33
more I can say about that there’s a
9:36
thumbs-up
9:37
thank you very much there’s one person
9:38
watching there are no questions of
9:42
course because only one person is
9:44
watching and this is a documentation of
9:48
how weird I am and like video and I want
9:52
to get better at this maybe I will do
9:54
more life video I’ll be out on a tour
9:57
starting for two days from now and the
10:00
next six weeks are pretty pretty packed
10:02
with events and tours and festivals so I
10:10
may be doing things live over the next
10:13
weeks because I do not really I don’t
10:17
really not want to upload videos but I
10:22
don’t want to sit there for three hours
10:24
editing and think sitting in a hotel
10:27
room thinking about what I could do so
10:29
I’m just going to think about a topic go
10:31
live upload a thumbnail and that’s it so
10:34
my friend home ah it’s got a question I
10:36
I haven’t read it I’ve got a question if
10:38
a band is dying how would you handle it
10:40
or just say goodbye on socials or
10:43
something smarter I think if there’s if
10:50
there are more people involved like when
10:53
you take what from a harlots mouth and
10:55
people watching this channel may know
10:57
them they have they have announced an a
11:01
tour to say like this is the last tour
11:03
before a hiatus so I the
11:06
the good thing about a hiatuses if you
11:09
go on hiatus and three months later
11:11
you’re like fuck I missed this shit I’m
11:13
gonna quit my job again and write a
11:14
record and do this it’s kind of and no
11:18
one’s gonna be mad if you do won’t do
11:19
anything for ten years oftentimes I
11:23
think goodbyes are most of the times
11:27
when when a band that’s a little bit
11:28
established says goodbye you don’t
11:31
they’re back look one year two years or
11:34
five years later they are back and the
11:35
goodbye is like well the goodbye was a
11:40
little weird did you want to stop or did
11:42
you just need a break or did you just
11:45
need a break to take care of your
11:47
financials did you need a break to pay
11:50
off your credit card debt which is often
11:53
the case as well people just can’t
11:54
sustain it anymore
11:55
um I think cashing in on goodbyes like
12:01
playing farewell tours and doing this
12:04
and bad is the cool thing I like it even
12:06
more if people say hey we’re doing
12:10
special merch for the goodbye tour and
12:13
we’re we are donating all the things all
12:16
the money that we’re getting from the
12:17
merge to a water organization or Syrian
12:22
war organization organization
12:26
the war of course but I mean if you’re
12:30
really fed up and you are pretty sure
12:33
with I’m not going to do this particular
12:35
project anymore because if you play an
12:38
instrument or you’re a vocalist or
12:40
anything you’re going to pop up in
12:41
another in another project anyways so I
12:45
think a hard cut is okay and I for
12:49
example I did a hard cut one year ago
12:51
when I quit there we gonna fly it and
12:54
I’m probably not going probably not
12:58
going to play in that band again of like
13:01
I’m not going to be a part of that band
13:03
again I mean if the if someone playing
13:06
guitar breaks his arm and I may be the
13:10
first guy they would ask I would
13:12
probably do it as a friend but I think
13:17
it’s
13:17
it just depends on your on your what you
13:21
are your solo artist not putting up
13:23
records anymore it’s it’s pretty hard to
13:25
to tell but if you are sure that you’re
13:28
not continuing anymore I think you’re
13:31
good Baez is a good thing but coming
13:33
back is a weird thing I hope that helps
13:37
let me know try to write me a message
13:40
and thank you for watching this 40
13:45
minute 14 minute and five seconds live
13:49
stream have a nice Monday this week
13:52
there won’t be no I think there won’t be
13:55
a an EP documentary because I haven’t I
13:59
haven’t been writing I’ve been busy
14:01
organizing my festival summer as a
14:04
freelancer and I have a super great day
14:09
and if you’re watching this in the
14:10
future have a great day as well
